My wife and I are thinking about taking a trip to Yellowstone in the Fall and were wondering if anyone knows of any awsome photo guides, photographic seminars, etc... Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks

Howdy John,

For our trip there we used this book, although a little out dated, the sites and places are still right on the money. We found that the timing it listed for the different animals was very accurate.

I am not sure if you have time or not, but I would highly recommend trying a couple of days at the very least for the Teton's. I was very impressed with all the photo ops there, even more so than Yellowstone, especially for wildlife and water fowl like the Trumpter Swans.

If your intersted in the Tetons at all let me know, I have a couple of pretty good websites.

I am really envious of you, it was one of our favorite trips.

One tip I might throw out is staying in West Yellowstone if your up in the Northern Part. We stayed at the Gray Wolf Inn, it was right across the street from the Grizzly bear and Wolf sanctuary, a lot of good photo ops of them and it's also very interesting to see them that close up, and they cycle the bears in about a every hour to keep them moving and interested. Just something to consider!!!

Take care,

Thanks for the info guys. Like John and his wife, my wife and I are planning a massive vacation for the month of May and we're definitely heading to Wyoming to see the Tetons and Yellowstone. Craig, I'll PM you tomorrow for some information about the Tetons.

Google the Yellowstone Institute. They offer classes and take folks off the beaten path to some great places with lots of photo ops. My wife and I spent a few days in a Mammals of Yellowstone course - great stuff if you are a little nerdy. That was right before my wife decided she did not like camping with grizzly bears in the woods around her.
