Why doesn't my Photoshop do that?!! - 03-10-2007, 11:20 PM

I just watched someone (in a really bad movie on TV) take a a snapshot of someone and enlarge the reflection in her eye big enough to get a nice, full-quality picture of someone. Someone who was reflected in her eyeball.

Dang... the point and shoot that snapped that picture must have had about 219,000x146000 pixel resolution (that's about 32,000 megapixels).

Gotta love TV...

Personally, I love it when they have a blotchy piece o crap and they run it through the magical "image software" and all of a sudden it's a tack sharp image of a guy reading a newspaper and they say "AHA! He was aliveon Tuesday! You can read the date on the paper..." or somesuch..

and they solve the whole case in a few days, never write a report or spend days on the stand in court. Ask a real CSI if they work the whole case or just process the scene.

I find this humorous, watch courtv and some of the shows on that and they joke about those items often.

I had my car broken into, and a couple weeks later my neighbour had his broken into also. I happened to be around at the time where he said "look there's blood. run a DNA test and a fingerprint test you'll find out who it is"

I chuckled, and the crime scene person that was out rolled her eyes and gently explained that what is seen on TV shows is nowhere near like what it is in real life.

that's not REAL???

Watch Blade Runner. It's pretty old and they had some kind of gee whiz image analyzing tool in that movie. I thought it was awesome... except for the part where it wasn't real

Ah come on guy, if it was real, it wouldn't be entertainment and we wouldn't watch it. With television, check your reality analyzer at the living room door and push the I believe button. I everything on television was real, it would be called news.

In which case, I wouldn't be interested enough to watch it for an hour.

My fave was the time they took a 5x7 print, scanned it, zeroed in on a reflection in the person's eyeball, then processed it for about 20 hrs on some auto image enhancer, then !voila! it was a porthole window from a boat!
