Best picture opportunities in Frenchpeopleland - 03-11-2007, 12:17 PM

My girlfriend and I are taking a trip to France in May for a couple of weeks. Her parents retired and moved from England last year and now live in the Bordeaux region of France. We plan to tour Paris (my desire, not theirs), Bordeaux, and the Pyrenees Mountains in Southern France. Has anyone here been to any of these places and what would be some recommendations for photo opportunities and good things to see? Thanks.

Every where!!

A few questions by "Pyrenees Mountains" which do you mean, the Pryreness in Pyrénées-Atlantiques, the Midi-Pyrénées or Pyrénées-Orientales? Sort of like East Texas, West Texas or the Valley...

I long to retire to Provence... If you were going there I could keep you on the go for weeks and add a ferry over to Corse.

I've spent several weeks total in the Nice area. It is my favorite place in the world that I've visited (and I've visted quite a few).

Here are a few examples (these are scanned slides so please bear with me).

This area gives you a great location nestled between the ocean, the mountains. You can easily drive to St. Tropez, Cannes, Monaco, and the western part of Italy. Absolutely gorgeous.

John, it looks as though we will be visiting this portion. Any thought or ideas?

Paul, thanks for the suggestion-----I will definately be taking in the art scene.

Jesus, your pictures of Nice are nice (great actually).

Any more suggestions are appreciated. Again, thanks.

I'll get you some suggestions for that area. It's part of Basque country in France...

Or a lifetime in Museums... Paris where street photography was born...
