Hail Storm - 03-12-2007, 08:24 AM

OMG! Did anyone wake up this morning to golf ball size hail? My poor dogs were in the back pin, which is uncovered, and my brother made a made dash with only a plastic clothesbasket on his head to save them. Crazy I know, but he made it ok with only a few bruises on his legs. Luckily our cars were spared, but unfortunately that wasn't the case for my boyfriend's (the assistant) family. His sister's back windshield was completely shattered; he has dents on his front windshield and a busted headlight. His brother's car got the same treatment and his dad's two side mirrors were shattered.

I got some pictures of the hail that I will post later, but for now I better get to work.

Springtime in TEXAS!

It ain't a good hail storm unless it does at least $10 million in damages!

Hailed here last night also. My area was fortunate though, the hail was only the size of marbles. I had several vehicles and a couple of trailers that went through the pounding.

As best I can tell so far..., no damage to anything.

I do have small river running through my back pasture right now.

Well, what a morning. Here are a few shots of the damage:

1. A few of the stones close to our porch:

2. One of the stones decided to get up close and personal with my headlight:

3. My windshield was jealous and decided to become friends with 8 hailstones:

4. While my car was bad, my sister's got it worse:

5. Each white mark on the roof is a chunk that was taken out by a hail stone:

6. Finally, this stone was a big shot and actually made it through the roof:

That's about it. We didn't lose any windows on our house, but our neighbors did. Pure joy.
