San Jac' Battle Re-enactment 4/21

April 21, 2007 — San Jacinto Battleground SHS — San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Re-enactment — Enjoy living history encampments and re-enactors in period costume, demonstrations of weapons, activities for children and more. At 3 p.m., a re-enactment of the famous 1836 battle which won Texas' Independence from Mexico will be fought. Cannon and musket fire will fill the air with the sights and sounds of April 21, 1836! Food and drinks are available or bring your own picnic lunch and enjoy the day. 10 a.m.-6 p.m. (281) 479-2431.

There's going to be A LOT of gun powder going off, they do a fantastic job out there...really something to see...and shoot.

It's cool. I went last year (had a media pass) and will go again this year.

Maybe we can make it a TPF get together?

I went last year and I thought I was about to die. Definitely go prepared with water (because it is way up by the monument and there is none for sale by the field) and things to keep the sun off of you. It was a fun event though and if I go again this year I'll definitely have a better action plan.
