April 21, 2007 — San Jacinto Battleground SHS — San Jacinto Day Festival and Battle Re-enactment — Enjoy living history encampments and re-enactors in period costume, demonstrations of weapons, activities for children and more. At 3 p.m., a re-enactment of the famous 1836 battle which won Texas' Independence from Mexico will be fought. Cannon and musket fire will fill the air with the sights and sounds of April 21, 1836! There's going to be A LOT of gun powder going off, they do a fantastic job out there...really something to see...and shoot.
