B&H shipping - 03-14-2007, 11:20 AM

Doesn't B&H normally ship within 24 hours of order placement (seems they have in the past)? Reason I ask is I placed an order via phone on 3-12 @ 2:30 PM ET, and it just shipped this morning. Since I get free 3-day shipping due to NAPP membership, I was hoping to have my new lens by Friday for this weekend. Looks like it isn't to be. What has been your experience?

only time they didn't ship that day or the next if after the cut off was when a Jewish Holiday caught me once.

9 times out of 10 they do ship fast. On occasion, I have seen them take up to 48 to ship. When I have upgraded to 2 day or anything other than standard, it has always shipped within 24hrs.

I ordered a few items Monday as well.. 4pm... Got shipping notice at 11:55am the next day. I sent them UPS 2-Day.

I see what happened. Your 2-Day bumped my Free 3-Day.

Kidding of course.

That was an extra fee. Though I gladly paid it just to get a reaction...

35 f/1.4L. Seems I'm finding myself shooting more in low-light conditions nowadays.

I told myself three months ago that I wasn't buying any new lenses anytime soon. Well, you know how that goes.

I just emailed them asking why it took 48 hours to ship this one item. The information will be helpful for future orders that I place. Actually, it hasn't shipped yet--I only have a tracking number that was generated by their system. It's supposed to be picked up this evening.

There is a chance the didn't have on in stock even if said they did. Not like them but errors do happen. The only other time I had a delay was if it was something they had to get from third party vendor, like Porta-Brace covers.

That's true. I'm not mad at them, just a little disappointed. Was in hopes of using the lens in a shoot this weekend. Oh, well. I'm a big boy. I'll live.

Yeah probably an error in the stock room and they had to get one for you which caused the delay. I've only heard positive things about them and when I have seen them at the various photo trade shows they have always been very professional.
