Texas Farm Bureau sold me a policy covering $5000 of gear for $85.00. I did this policy somewhat quickly last Monday without the agent present. I drove my inventory list to them, swapped info with the clerk in the office, and was out in 15 minutes, on my way to pick up a lens for a wedding. They're mailing me a copy soon. <biting fingernails now>

Is that coverage for the U.S. only?

I'm looking for something that will cover me both at home and overseas. Hill and Usher quoted me $500.00 a year for $7000.00 worth of equipment. They quoted me as if I were a business which I am not. They said individual coverage would have been more expensive.
If you don't have a business, then you probably don't need a H&U policy. For those of us who do have a business, we need a policy that has all the extra coverage options. You can just get a rider for your homeowner's policy... assuming you own a home... which I would hope you do if you have $7000 worth of camera equipment.

My State Farm Personal Articles policy is 1.37 per 100 dollars.

I have a scheduled personal property rider on my Safeco Renters policy with world wide coverage for $1.20/$100. I've been told to expect an increase this year(but what else is new).

No, I live under a bridge because I have $7000 worth of camera equipment.
