work sold to New Library in Austin - 03-18-2007, 12:53 AM

I just received an email from a principle buyer for a new library in Austin that wants to buy 5 prints.

I submitted these images 2 months ago on craigslist and just got a reply stating they wanted to buy 5 images and wanted them next week.

I was shocked that I they wanted to buy 5 images for the permanent collection. What has me more shocked is they want museum prints and frames ready in less than a week. WOW that’s some turn around. Lucky for me I have supplier that is willing to work with me and I can just squeak by and turn this around.

The hard part after cutting mats is to get a price put together that wont kill them. Museum glass is the big price killer but they want the best and that’s the best plus they were really sold when they saw the difference side by side with normal uv glass. Opening day is in two weeks and I can’t wait. This means I can finally break into the Austin Gallery circuit which is a lot harder than one would think. Once I can make it in Austin I can move to Dallas and Houston galleries. One would believe it’s the other way around if you can show in Dallas and Houston you could show in Austin. Not true. It’s been a big learning curve over the last 6 months of showing.

So if you have time come out to the opening day of the new Spicewood Springs Library in Austin on Saturday the 31.

It’s turning out to be a good month…
