Canon rebate question - 03-21-2007, 10:04 PM

I've got a small concern with submitting my Canon rebate. The model number on the warranty card for my 85 f/1.8 is very light so when scanned and printed, it doesn't even show up. The serial shows just fine. Do you think this will be an issue? I don't need any problems with getting my $$.

Considering how bad the rebate company is that processes the Canon rebates I would be concerned. Can you boost the contrast/level/curves in photoshop and then print it out?

That is what I did...

Never a problem with Canon getting a rebate. Just preregister online so you can track it...

I have gotten many Canon rebates over the years.. Always pretty quick too.

Just keep copies of everything...CYA

Just make sure you call Canon and speak with the rebate folks if an issue arises. I am going through a barcode non-compliance issue at the moment. I'm glad I made copies of everything before submitting. The rep assigned to my case responded quickly.

Thanks, guys, got it worked out. Never had a problem before. Didn't want to start now. :-)

Mine was like that and I sent it in anyway. I think all they need is the serial number and the receipt. I got my rebate check after 4 weeks.

So how are you liking the lens? I am looking at it right now and it is on my WTB list. I would like to start shooting some sports, and I see from other people here that it is a good indoor sports lens.

On a different note, I ordered my Canon 30D from B&H and also bought the 75-300 cheapo to sell w/ my Rebel XT. I sent in my rebates and was expecting a $220.00 rebate. $200 for the body and $20 for the lens. I got a check for $330.00 back! Wow what a surprise, I just made an extra $110 on my purchase. Made the $1415 I spent now $1085.00 for camera w/ lens. Since I sold my Rebel w/ kit lens and the 75-300 for $660, now I only have $425.00 in my camera. I guess all of the trading around I did kept my investment low. Just thought I would share it. Guess I will spend my extra money on strobes.
