He starts from nothing, and builds a number of samples in what looks like a couple of Line 6 modelers and a bunch of Digital Delay pedals. I'm not really sure exactly what. Then in the song he catches some samples of his voice and adds echo...............

What finese and control!

I have the Austin City Limits Festival version on DVD where you can see a lot better what all he is doing.

Never seen this guy...that's pretty smooth to be able to do all of that on the fly like that. It reminds me that I've always wanted an 8-track recorder. Now I can add that to my next Christmas wish list.

yeah, I have not looked at what his is playing on the vid too closely on the guitar, but it's not that hard. a few chords, mostly. I was too interested in the captures and the starts and stops of the samples. On this one, it looks like he uses an e-bow for one of the samples at the start of the song, which I didn't notice him using in the ACL vid.

I suppose that he could have some samples aready stored that he starts, but, but it really looks like he creates all of them on stage.

I'm still amazed at what he does.
