There are some great people on this site.
Toad started out helping me yesterday with my new blog/site.
Then Daniel (Zeroendless) took over and walked me through the entire thing!!!
And Christie (My3peas) is helping with my logo.
You guys have really restored my faith in Texans, cause apparently I haven't ran into very many like ya'll down here. Not sure where they are hiding either lol.
But I really want to thank all of you and especially these 3 folks for making my life a lot easier and walking me through things that I had/have no clue about. I have learned tons this weekend from yall.
Again thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Oh and Holly thank you too for working with me on this workshop :D

Well, I'm not on your list, but I'll heartily agree with your sentiments about Texan generosity. The people on this board are awesome!

Thanks Daniel I was truely starting to loose faith at least in this part any ways lol. We thought people in Houston, SA and Dallas/Ft Worth were nicer to us than the folks down here.
We were expecting lots of southern hospitality but it seems to be lacking in this part of the state lol.
I wasn't implying that Texans are bad either just the ones we have ran into here lol, and I doubt very many of them are actually from TX.

Daniel you have offered up some great info to me too. You always reply even when noone else does.
So you helped me break out of my shell I guess you could say. :D SO thanks to you too :P

Howdy! I'm from Corpus. The issue with Corpus is that it's filled up with retired folks from Yankee land. :D

I'm a Yankee here...been in Dallas most of my life. It has been wearing on me up till last year when I met a ton of really nice people in Dallas. Down to earth, not even an ounce pretentious, and people I generally associate with...then again came to find out none of them were from around here. In any case, my 21-22 years in Texas has been the best as it could be but I'm also excited to leave cause I get to see mountains every morning, experience snow storms and enjoy fresh weather in sunny (hehe) Colorado. :

Alex
I know what you mean. We are from the south though so we were used southern hospitality. So we were pretty shocked when we came here. Are we glad we got stationed here? yeah cause now it means we "can" go back to the west coast if we want and there is something available. that was our main goal. we leave in under a year unless dh heads to the sandbox for a year to 18 months. Which we don't want but looks like is a very big possibility. So that would mean the kids and I stay here, cause home is NC and we have been told that if we go back for the year we will be stuck on the East coast for the rest of his career and neither of us want that lol. So I will suck it up and deal lol. I am just glad that there are people like you guys on this board to make it a much nicer place to be :D

... I would do just about anything to stay away from the East coast. I rather be in Dallas than the East coast but rather anywhere but Dallas...Austin is amazing

ANY big city does not really reflect the true nature of the people who live outside of it. So, if you're judging Southern Attitudes/Hospitality based on Dallas' residents... well, it's just completely wrong. You need to drive AT LEAST an hour outside of any major city to meet people who represent the group that you're thinking of. Major cities (like Dallas) are just huge melting pots and cannot possibly reflect true Southern mentalities... be that good or bad.

Austin is an exception to the rule... but not really. Austin isn't very big... compared to Houston and Dallas. And yes, Austin is more like true Southerners... but it's still not the same.

Corpus isn't Big and they aren't "nice" lol
We have found all others to be much nicer every where we have been in TX so far. Even when we drove through from Cali to SC in 98. I think Corpus is just a town all in its own and they are just "different" lol
