ok I can't take it no more. Why the hell does the guy across from me feel the need to clip his fingernails AT WORK!!?? Nobody wants to hear that annoying click-click-click...and WHO decides one morning to toss their nail clipper into their pocket to bring to work. Does one say to himself "hmm, I could do this at home or do it at work and get paid for it!" (I don't even wanna begin to go down that street of things you can do at work instead of home.)

Yep - got one of those here too.

Also had one of those receptionists that was so cliche': she was always filing her nails.

Yuk.

Maybe I should bring q-tips in and start digging for earwax?

Oh man, i could write a BOOK on this topic. All these are in a cube-farm environment:

How bout the individuals who absolutely feel the need to have their conference calls on speaker? I mean, I whisper and the guy next to me hears me - but these people somehow feel the rest of the building need to hear their conversations - and usually the volume is WAY up.

We had this one guy that after being told to stop using the speaker phone - managed to bring in a cordless...... so now he paces up and down the isles having his meetings. To top it off there is always crude language being used.

How bout the peeps who are always watching stupid videos on the net.......and dont bother to turn the sound down?

How bout the guy that doesnt disable the sounds for his instant messenger - and you hear every incoming and outgoing 'chime' as they chat for hours?

The guy who has that loud annoying laugh.......

Contrary to popular belief, just because you are INSIDE a cubicle - it doesnt mask the sound or smell of your flatulence......

Loud RADIOS anyone?

I could go on and on............ Good topic.......

OMG, I have one of those, too! Every time I heard that little *clink* it made me want to throw up. I even emailed our HR guy to add that to list of cubicle etiquette no-nos that was recently established.

when we got shorter wall cubes almost 2 years ago and them moved me from the back corner to the front Its been a pain. We had 7 ft walls now they are 5ft walls and the sound moves all over the place.

whats bad is when 3 other people around me are on separate conferance calls we cant hear squat. with all hte hot air blasting around.

i annoy my co-workers with my email notice sound....

its the famous 5 tones form Close Encounters of the Third kind.

also I usually get into a yelling match with the General contractor every Thursday who is working on my never ending construction project in Detroit.

the guy next to me has this "you've got mail" notice set on .... in French!

and he gets a lot of email.

it became "not cute" after about the first 5 notices.

it's bad, but I simply can't imaging having to sit next to Jake!!!!

Most annoying thing at work today:
I'm doing EOM work (end of month works - billing totals, case status, etc) and everyone KNOWS not to bother the ogre (me) at that time.
Yet what does the boss do? Hands me 3 new cases to do ASAP, and he knows I will be out tomorrow.
I told him (my exact words): "You'll get your stuff ASAP when I get off my ASS and want to do it. I'll put it on the log for first thing Monday."
Then he said "NO, do it now"

I am.
But now he is trying to figureout how to do EOM billing reports and stuff. :D
