Ohh, I'm going to have to see if/when they're coming to Houston. They don't have a new album do they? I hate the proverbial "Here's one of me new album". But I guess all the classics started that way at one point.

Troy T. | New album ready for presale too.. I believe Houston date is either right before Dallas or just after.. so it'll probably be in August as well. The formal ticket sales start Sat. Presale is on now. Probably for the Houston show too..

Why would liking Rush make you a geek? If that's true, I'm a super geek. I bought their first live album back in 1977, on vinyl no less. Been a fan since the early days when they were called "Zeppelinized Canadian Rock" by one reviewer. I guess he paid too much attention to the solo on Working Man to notice their other virtues.
Too bad they won't be playing anywhere near where I live.

Rush will be in Houston, or at least the dreaded Cynthia Woods Mosquito Pavilion.
I am debating getting tics for Dallas and driving up there instead.
Will also be in Austin.
Tour dates and ticket info at rush.com
(as well as a sample of one of the new songs).
I am a Rushaholic, but don't really like there newer stuff as much.

The Dallas date is at Smirnoff... Although I'm a big fan as well, I'm not going to sit out there in the middle of August. Should have been at AAC or Nokia.

I think most groups grow musically and then their new music reflects thier new style. I just want to hear the same style I've grown to love.

Is SMirnoff outdoors also?
Dang.
What's the Austin venue? I may have to take a midweek roadtrip if it's in doors.

Troy T. | I've seen them twice in the last few years at Smirnoff and they barely touched on any new stuff. I have to say, as far as sound goes they could have cut a CD from either of those concerts. It was the best live sound I've ever heard...pretty much flawless.

I may have to tough it out though, this may be the last tour - they are getting old.
I missed their previous tour - the first one I missed since the early 80s.
The one before that was awesome though - 1/2 a regular set (old & new) and 1/2 a redo of the 2112 set (all they were missing was the robes)
