I've been to Caddo Lake to photograph. It's great! I can't tell you exactly where to go. My friend and I rented a boat and driver and mostly shot out on the lake. There were plenty of photo opportunities doing that. There's a really cool, old house out in the water and great wildlife. We stayed out there until sunset and got some great sunset shots. We also went along some nature trails, but I didn't find much to shoot along the trails until we came to the lake. There were a line of metal canoes and some people fishing which made for great shots. We didn't have that much time there because we had just driven there for the day from Dallas. I definitely plan on going back. I'm sure there are quite a few people to do some great photo stories on. The people we met were great.

well crap...

how about this, one of my friends just moved to Jefferson and has a bed and breakfast and he is one of founding members of our photography guild. here is his site. I would call him rather than email. He notoriously never checks it.

For an overview of the lake, be sure to go to Uncertain, TX, and take the paddlewheel boat tour. Entertaining, and chances for some good shots. Here's their website: http://www.caddolake.com/steamboat.html.

Caddo Lake is beautiful. Try going to the state park and rent a canoe.

i was at the state park and thought about renting a canoe, but i shoot with a view camera and couldn't figure out how that would work from a canoe!

maybe i'l take a smaller format camera on my next trip and try shooting from a canoe.

I used to fish Caddo regularly. A word of caution is make sure you have a map if you take a boat and even better take someone along that knows the lake. It's possible to get back up in the creek channels and get very, very lost. There's a lot of great wild life and great photo opertunities. Try hiring a guide, they can take you to some really nice spots. I don't have his number right now but if you email me I'll give you the name and number of a friend that runs a lodge and guide service on Caddo. Finally an area I can help with!!!
