Saw the movie "Shooter" today..... - 04-03-2007, 08:20 PM

All I can say was that it was awesome and I'm glad we went to see it instead of the Adam Sandler movie Reign over me. I saw the reviews for Reign over me and it did not do to well.
Shooter was great. If you love seeing people get blown away every five minutes this is your movie. My wife almost went into labor with all the tense action going on. From Start to Finish this movie kicked ass and Mark Wahlberg does as well.

If anyone has seen Shooter or Reign over me, I'd like to hear your reviews.

Cheers,

Marcus

I want to see this. I think Marky Mark (as he will forever be known to me) is one of the best of the young actor crowds who puts depth into every roll.

From your description and the NY Times review, it sounds like Hollywood have totally screwed up the story of Bob, "The Nailer" and Stephen Hunter's novel. Maybe Hunter will do a review of it.

I'll pass but suggest people read "Point of Impact" and all of Hunter's Swagger family novels and the town of Blue Eye, Arkansas.

Hunter on Shooter.

Just saw Shooter (stayed late at work then hit the theater on the way home since the wife was busy tonight).

Very good movie. Again I have to say I like Marky Mark's character acting.

I think they pushed the whole "government is evil and conspiracy" a bit too much (too many speeches by Ned Beaty) but overall I liked the show.

I got a kick out of the old geezer in Tenn and his "I still got the shovels" line (and Anna Nicole line). Reminds me of my Grandfather-in-law.

Good action shots. Gotta think that alot of those wetwork teams were very inept and stupid. Common, they are black op guys, they'd be better than that.

Alot of "McGyvering" in the show too.

I'll be using the line "They Shot My Dog" in my next RPG game.

Oh, gotta get some of Hunter's novels a try. Seems like it might be a bit like some of William Johnstone's stuff.

Only know Hunter from listening to his reviews on the Tony Kornheiser radio show. Hope it does well.

Stephen Hunter is on Fridays, but can't remember when.
