I generally start with the gas station on the train table, work my way to the Lincoln Log and boxes, the fort in the back yard, then the sand box, then I offer the good old Chuckee Cheese bribe for the first munchkin that can find Dad's wallet.
My 3 y.o. also likes to stuff things between the cushions on the couch or chair. Oh yes, if there is a lego or Lincoln log structure on the play table then it may be inside of that as well. Also, check the trash and recycling bins.
Good luck with your quest.

Let's see! I've found one of our dogs in the dryer, found my $400 volt meter in the freezer, found my spare tire in my son's tree house (have no idea how a seven y/o got that heavy sucker up there), we've found cookies, sandwiches and juice boxes under his mattress and in his closet stuffed in pockets (midnight snacks you know), found a few things in his bed we couldn't identify. Sorry no driver's license yet. If we find it we'll be sure and let you know though !

did you look in your car, or his car and or tractor. if he has a fire truck look there also. better yet check all his toys with wheels, even a bike or trike.
dose he have a wallet yet???
and you better check the secrete room in the closet where he might be making "fake id's" for his buddies. kids these days are smarter at a younger age.

OMG! I just found it and you will not believe this!! Well, if you have kids, you will. Here is the whole story:
SO I move here and the house is a disaster. I get one room done and can't get the other's done until the roof is fixed. The weather has not held long enough to do that, so all my stuff is in one small room and on the front porch and around the house in boxes. My birth certicate & ss card disappear during the move.
I get a job at a studio, briefly 'cuz it sucked. I needed a list b doc for my paperwork, so i order my ss card.
My reg & inspection expired at the end of February. I can't find my title, either. I look in the filing cabinet over and over. I get a renewal bill from TX forwarded here.
I go to the DMV last week, and present my docs; a license, a ss card and renewal notice. They say come back with a birth certificate and title as well.
I look for the title & bc again, all thru the filing cabinet. Can't find them.
Finally a couple days ago I order a bc online. I get an email saying it will come the next day. But guess what happened in the meantime? My license disappears out of my planner, along with my photoshop elements CD. That little crapper!!
At the same time, I find my title. Right in the folder it should be in, the same folder I had looked in 12 times.
I have a concert coming up on Saturday that I have to drive to with my 3 kids and husband. It's over an hour away. I don't wanna drive and get triple-whammied. SO I am sweating it.
I look all over for the CD. I figure it's easier to find a yellow CD then a license and if I find it, the license will be with it.
This house is huge, and he's been getting into the basement and the locked bedrooms that are not done. There is antique furniture and boxes everywhere. So you can imagine my panic. All he would've needed is a second to stash it, and that means he still has 9 seconds left over before I catch him.
So I post on here tonite, out of desperation, knowing I am out of time.
I start talking to DP on IM and my computer keeps locking up. I restart it and when it comes up there is a yellow icon for the F drive. Photoshop Elements CD. Right then, I knew...
I pull out the CD. That little ****!
Right below that drive is the floppy drive, which I NEVER use. I poke it open, pull the lighter out of my pocket and look inside...
You know the rest.
The funniest thing is, if he hadn't grabbed that CD too I would have NEVER found it. And in hindsight, I was right there when he did it. I remember him touching my planner. I remember him messing with the computer, screaming and pointing as I pulled him away.
