WOW that's amazing... I'll remember not to drive on a runway behind a 747 !!!

How in the world do someone convince the unknown (blurred our) airline to do this test? The engineers should already know all this info.

Oh great, add that to my fears as I drive down Central. A 747 landing in front of me and blasting me off the road. LOL.

We didn't exactly have the whole plane in our plant but we did have the jet engines which drove our gas compressors. The largest ones we used put out over 20,000hp! The exhaust was so hot that we used it for heating oil which we used to provide heat to other areas like the amine system. The exhaust ran around 1800 deg and exited through a 60" exhaust pipe. It's amazing to be standing right next to one of these engines that is amonst 15' long and turning close to 20,000 RPM's.

i agree, sometimes they don't do things the way they SHOULD be done because of safety concerns.. of course if that show was from another country that'd be a different story!

It seems that the plane was from Virgin Air, plainly visible is the Virgin logo on the tail.

I wonder how much damage the engines of a 777 could do.
