Early Sunday morning our Police department recieved a call from a woman screaming that her child had been murdered. The call came from a lady who owns one of the Chiness resturants here in town and the child was her 4 y/o son. The couple moved here about sfive years ago and were very friendly. They were so friendly that sometimes they would let some of their employees actually live with them when they were new in town and trying to get settled in or back on their feet, this was the case with the murderer. The man was an illegal in America and had been working for the family for a few weeks and had no place to live so the family was letting him stay with them. Early sunday morning the mother was woken by a noise and went to check on her son and found the man over him. The boy had been raped and murdered. This happens all accross America but bot in our small town, or at least thats how most of Carthage feels. We don't have many resturaunts here so if you eat out then most like you would have eating in their's. I have been in there many times and spoke to the parents and seen the young boy running around and playing, he was always happy and friendly. I remember one evening when we were eating and the young boy came up to our table and gave use some silverware, a few minutes later he returned with more silverware and had a piece of paper and a pencil like he was taking our order. It doesn't matter were this might have happened, when a young child is involved it still hits you in the heart, especially for parents because it makes you think "what if it had been my child ?". I truely hope they give him life in Huntsville. The death sentance would be to easy and fast on him, once the inmates find out he raped and killed a 4 y/o boy they will make him suffer the rest of his life. I have even considered letting my cousin that is serving life in huntsville know about this piece of #$## so he can spread the word inside. I don't want this to become a reliegous thread but if you do pray, please pray for this family.

I was just so sick reading this. My heart goes out to them. I'll leave it at that, cause I really don't want to go off on a tangent.

So sad, that a family that was showing so much kindness, is so horribly hurt. My thoughts go out to them.

This is sickening. When the guy gets locked up, he won't last long in prison. They don't like child molesters and the like. Prayers go out to the family.

I believe that I have eaten there a few times several years ago when I lived in Longview.
That is a true shame. That person killed an entire family that morning. The real shame will come when you see how insignificant the punishment of foreign nationals in America is. Trust me. I know.
Hopefully those poor people will find the strength to go on living thier lives. But honestly, I can't imagine how. Such a tragic loss.
Prophet out.

This is a strong family and I know they will make it through this but their lives will never be the same and I'm sure part of their kindness died with their son. The family is assian and I don't want anyone to think I am stereotyping but from what I have noticed from the assian families I know they are very strong and have a strong will to survive. I'm not sure if it's because of everything they have been through but seem to have a drive a lot of us have lost, something I have always admired about them. I can only imagine how their life has been disturbed. My son is my best friend and he is just about always by my side. We do everything thogether, go to the drag races, ride motorcycles, play ball, we even like the same movies. I this had happened to him I don't know what I would have done. I do know the police would have found the murder dead also. This has gotten more angry than any of the other crimes I have seen or heard of. i guess it's because even though I didn't know the people personally I still saw them a couple of times a week and also because of the fact that it involved a child that I have watched play and laugh. The family have members flying in from New York and over seas and the resteraunt has been closed since it happened. People have been placing cards and flowers outside the resturant to show their respect and sorrow.
