Natchwey has beaten you to that part of the world regarding humanitarian issues.
Why not look in your own back yard for opportunities to show humanitarian issues? You know the old saw, "Think globally but act locally."
We don't have to go half way around the world to find suffering and reveil it with a compassionate eye. The eye of compassion just needs to look around where it is.
