T.V Court Shows

Today after studying for over five hours I had to take a break before my head exploded so I watched a little tv. Nothing much was on and while flipping channels I came accross Extreme Court (think that was the name) so I watched a few minutes of it. I've seen the shows before but never watched any of them, now I know why. Are these shows for real? It made our judicial system look like a circus. Even if I were to go in front of that so called judge I wouldn't be able to take him serious. Are any of them actually judges or just actors? This was the first time I have watched one and probably won't be watching one again, got to many DVDs to have to watch it again. I just felt like they were insulting our system that we put so much trust in. Just me rambling.
