Looks good. But I am not sure about the VGA port. It is a dying standard...I would probably get a DVI before I get a VGA. Unless it has both...

If this is the Dell E228WFP, it would be best to take a pass. I went through two of these within one week due to a problem of uneven backlighting, and others have reported the same issue. I ended up with the UltraSharp 2007WFP, which is very nice.

If this isn't the Dell that's been posted, please disregard. :-)

Avoid the Sceptres, newegg has plenty to read about how bad they are.

But it does come with a good old Costco warranty, so give it a try and decide for yourself!!!

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Tom,

I got a cheap Envision 22" widescreen monitor from Circuit City. It was at $279 and looked very good. Similar specs. I got it Thursday. After installing it and messing with it for an hour or so I noticed dead pixels. After a few more hours two more dead pixels showed up. Couldn't calibrate it properly either. The brightness/contrast was stuck to a point that the menu item didn't enable no matter what I did. Some review online said it only showed up when in digital DVI. Tried that and then I got 400x400 resolution or something like that and the blasted thing corrupted a file on my drive so I couldn't boot up. Had to remove the drive and copy a good file from another machine. The contrast/brightness didn't show up with the DVI either, but it showed up the day after!!! I don't like illogical computer stuff<g>

Needless to say I took the monitor back the day after and got a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW. It has 3000:1 contrast ratio and is absolutely beautiful. It's currently at $349. I have it hooked up via VGA, haven't dared to try the digital yet:( Got a GeForce 6200 card to go with it and this combination works very nicely IMO.

Best regards,
