Romantic Hotel - Jacuzzi Suite - Dallas area? - 04-24-2007, 01:56 PM

It's time that I take my special lady out for a romantic weekend. I am looking for an impromptu weekend here in the DFW area instead of a weekend flight somewhere.

Might any of you be able to reccommend a semi romantic area hotel that might have something like a jacuzzi suite or private hot tubs in room? I've done my searching and come up with your standard hotel chains that offer 2 or 3 rooms labeled as a "jacuzzi suite", but it's so NOT what I am looking for.

I'd like to keep the price reasonable, but I don't mind paying for quality if it's worth it.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Try the Gaylord. They have very nice rooms that can cost whatever you want to spend. On site everything, food drinks. In general a very nice place.

i was going to mention the Gaylord myself. My good friend does reservations out there, and is trying to get me the hook up to be able to take some sweet shots out there.

when you find a place you better call the hotel to have them define "jacuzzi suite". some places I have stayed in had an actual hot tub in the room as others merely had a jacuzzi style bath tub in the bath room.

also note that these jacuzzi's in Hotels are not cleaned very well and are a prime breading ground for nasty bacteria and other things you may not want to come in contact with.

Define what you ARE looking for...and what price are you wanting to pay?

It's not really in the DFW area but not that far of a drive either. There are some log cabins up around Turner Falls OK that are awesome. They have them with and without hot tubs and they are fairly inexpensive. When we were there a year and a half ago, we paid $100/night (non-season rates) but it has a living area, kitchenette and separate bedroom and bathroom. They are by the Arbuckle wilderness so it's only about 2 to 3 hours away.
It's not fancy like the ZaZa or the Gaylord, but is DEFINITELY romantic and country.
Let me know if you are interested and I'll see if I can't find the name of the place.

If you don't mind the drive to Tyler look at this..My wife and I stayed there a couple of months ago and it was VERY romantic..private screened patio with hot tub and their new york strip is to die for!! It was still a little chilly when we were there but now that it has warmed up the whole site should be beautiful

Thank you for all the wonderful suggestions. As for exactly what I had in mind, the best thing I can do is give you an example of what I have experienced back in PA.

http://www.caesarspoconoresorts.com/...s/resorts.aspx

I don't want anything "cheesy, or sleezy", but I'm not looking for a resort spa. We prefer something with a private hot tub, or jacuzzi, but somewhere that has 1000 thread count sheets, lots of big fluffy pillows, hopefully a balcony with a view, etc...

Looking to spend $300 / night or less....

Another idea is a great B&B. This one http://www.waxahachie-bed-breakfast.com/hemingway.html in Waxahachie is great with it's own entrance and is not attached to the main house. It has a big beautiful jacuzzi tub (watch those jets once you add bubbles!) great decorated living room and bedroom with a small kitchenette. This place is an awesome change from a hotel and much more private. Ask for the Hemingway One Suite if available, it's the best.

PS My husband blindfolded me and led me to this place to propose. He and the owners had candles and champagne all set out, it was so romantic and a wonderful surprise!
