How do people pass Anatomy & Physiology? I have a practicle today in 3 hrs and my brain is a mess. I've got muscles, nerves, chemicals and locations floating around in there getting all mixed up and what comes out is about the same as what comes out my other end

. I have had a week to learn 34 muscles, their origin, actions, insertions and innervations, plus I have to be able to identify them on models with no clue to the name plus spell the freaking name correctly (lets face it my spelling sucks to start with). All of this might not be to bad excpet I also had an exam in lecture on muscle contraction and nerves. We had to write a short essay on how a muscle contraction works from beginning to end without leaving out any steps. That meant starting at the time the nerve recieves a stimuli to the point it send a message across the synaptic cleft, the sarcoplasmic reticulum releases calcium, the actin active site is exposed, the myosin heads release and so and so!!!! The the second essay hd to explain step by step how a neuron works from the time it receieves a stimuli until it gets the signal to the next neuron or muscle. The other two short essay question wasn't to bad but then there were also 100 scantron question. I feel pretty good about the lecture exam, got at least a C which at this point is fine with me, but this practicle is freaking me out. The first 75 question are just blank lines, no answer to choose from! When we walk in we are given a sheet with 75 blank lines and we have to go to diffeent stations in the lab. Each station will have a model with three or four question like " what muscle is this or what is the action of this muscle" and we have to pull the answer out of thin air. It wouldn't be to bad if it was only one muscle on the model but like with a leg model theres around forty muscles and the pointer will be pointing at just one nd usually the one I don't know that well. The other 75 questions are matching which usually isn't that hard but they figured a way to fix that. There are muscles or nerves on one sheet and 75 answers on the other sheet and you have to match each. If it were just four choices for one part that would be east but when you have 75 choices for each part and some of them or only different by one innervation it gets !!! Everything might be the same on three muscles as far as innervation except one may use S2 to S3 where the other two use S1 to S3. So far I'm passing but man am I stressed out. My wife is so wonderful that she told me last night she has booked us a four day cruise for after the semester. Well I better get back to trying to cram more of this stuff in my head. A couple more Red Bulls and I should be good to go. Bad thing is as soon as I finish this practicle I have to start studing for the one next week on the central nervous system plus the final exam in lecture which is 200 question over 14 chapters and I also have to write a three page essay for psychology on Behaviorism vs humanism and get ready for the final in there. At least psychology is a little easier for me, guess it's because I'm so screwed in the head. Man this is to much for someone thats over the hill.
