Where the hell does seedless fruit come from? For instance last night I was a Kroger and saw "seedless watermelons".

How the hell do seedless watermelons get here? Let alone reproduce. Because near as I can figure the famer goes out in the pasture and palys Barry White or something and the watermelons just get thier freak on.

Prophet out.

They all come from rooted cuttings of a/the parent plant which is usually an F2 or F3 hybrid off some other plant that isn't sterile.

And "seedless" watermelons aren't really seedless... they just form immature and therefore soft little seeds that are more digestable than the mature hard seeds.

I mean... since you did ask and all...

Ok - they are hybrids, with each and every new generation (and that is quick turnaround), they pick the ones with lowest seed count, from next generation the same and same from next - see the pattern? And when they cannot find the seeds anymore, it's seedless. It's like when you try to grow the hottest peppers - with each turnaround you pick the hottest ones to plant for the next time.

Now, seriously - there are thousands of illegal workers in each fruit warehouse, pulling all nighters to pick the seeds out. Yea, from grapes too, with tweezers. Then they superglue them back . . . .

But doughnut holes ARE actually holes in an alternate dimension where everything is turned inside out and backwards to the dimension you currently occupy..

I thought Dunkin Donuts made those already, but I could be wrong.

Each melon sells for 10,000 yen, equivalent to about $83. It is almost double, or even triple, that of a normal watermelon.
"... double or eve triple..."?

I don't know where this guy is buying his melons. But mine cost $4. Silly BBC man.
