Pissed Off At Firefox!!!!!!!! (No longer mad, solution provided inside) - 04-26-2007, 07:35 PM

I'm at home and open up FF. My whole PC freaks out! All my screens go blank. Nothing is showing except my gray background. I wait for 10 minutes and still nothing reappears. Now I have to cold reboot.

Log back in, try to open FF and the same thing happens again. Cold reboot, log in, and I open MY COMPUTER. So far every thing is OK. Guess what happens when I open FF? DING, DING, DING, you win the grand prize.

I completely shutdown my PC and wait for a few minutes. Turn it back on, log in and everything seems OK until I open FF. Oh no, FF opens with out any problems this time except ONE HUGE PROBLEM! ALL my links are missing. FF looks like it updated its self and deleted all my links.

I've looked in the recycle bin, and done a complete search for "bookmarks.html". ZILCH!

I am so upset! Only three weeks ago did I go through my links and reorganize them all. There were so many informative sites you guys posted and I saved.

-Just pissed....Sonny

I'm guessing you already searched and found articles about Foxmarks and lost bookmarks, but did you find this one:

Sorry. I couldn't resist. Someone was going to say it...

Thank you very much Harris!!!

I did not know about those bookmark recovery links and again, thanks for posting yours. I used Restoring bookmarks from backup technique. It found 5 backups and I was able to choose the backup made yesterday evening, import it and recover all my links. Time to bookmark your link too.

I owe you a tall beer or 10.

Have you tried Foxmarks Bookmarks Synchronizer. It's a free add-on. It keeps my bookmarks on my PC, Mac and work computers all synchronized. It's a great tool, because you add a bookmark at work and it synchronizes at home. I believe that a bookmarks file is stored remotely so you wouldn't lose your bookmarks. Just a thought.

Sounds like you're running a PC... The solution is either a shotgun or a boot...choose your weapon. haha.
