Anyone want to rescue a pup? - 04-26-2007, 08:48 PM

Where my fiance lives there are about 10 pups running around. He thinks they are about 8 weeks old. The parents are all strays and can't be caught, but the pups apparently aren't too shy. They are probably mix of Border Collie, Lab, and Heeler. He lives just outside a small town and there isn't really animal control. We are thinking of trying to take them to Amarillo to a no-kill shelter, but don't know if they have a place for 10 pups. I want to try to see if I can find anyone to take any of them first because I would rather know they are going to good homes than to a shelter. Here are some pics. We know people over most of the state and if you want one or know someone who does, I am sure we could find a way to get one to you.

I would really love to keep one, but I can't have another one right now. I have my beagle, and I live with my sis. And my fiance has 2 huskies he already brings up on the weekends.

Someone suggested a BC rescue, but the ones I found in are in Willis, and La Porte and both of those are over 600 miles from me, so I don't think I could get them there. So I hope I can find a shelter in Amarillo that can take them. Since they are puppies they should adopt pretty quickly hopefully.

We have 2 rescues here, and you can't have better pups then rescues. (pure breeds - pfffft!)

Wish we could handle more.

hehehe I actually volunteer for a rescue group for rotts! hehehe Purebread arent SOOO bad!!! hehehe Rescues rock though! they are awesome dogs. they are SO greatful! I wish I could but like I said I volunteer and I have a foster now, I have my rottie, I have a new kitten and I have my German Shepherd. there is only so much love to go around! hehehe You may want to check with the rescue groups. they may have enough room in their foster homes and there are some that take mixes.
