My Other Hobby And Update

Just in case anyone was curious why I have not been around:

I am finally recovering from my last surgery and I am doing fairly well so far!
I had a bone graft and fusion on my cervical spine (neck) on March 30th.
I could not drive for 60 days and I could not lift more than 10lbs (Heck my camera bag weighs more than that ) It has been pure toture! But I am finally feeling pretty good!

This is all after I had lower back surgery last June

The good news is I am going to be buying my long awaited 5D in a few days or so!

So on with my question

I would like to seek some help if I may. I do not think this would be classsified as competition to TPF.
But my other hobby is Canaries and I breed Gloster Canaries (Crested) and the Common Yellow Canaries.

This is a snapshot of my male Gloster Canary (Crested) MY wife and niece call him Ringo!



This is what I wanted to ask:

Are there any Canary owners/lovers or possiblle Canary Breeders here on TPF?

I created a new website called The Canary Nest Forum for breeders and owners and I am seeking testers for the site. I sent out a selected few announcements to the local Canary Club, to which I am a member but I think most of them are not that keen on Computers. I really did not want to do a mass announcement until I have some feedback.

I would like some friends to register and test it out, then provide me with any negative or posititive feedback.

Keep in mind right now I am busy adding content, articles and etc.

We just had a get-together out there a couple of weeks ago but I'm up for another one anytime...preferably before it gets too hot.

They are all great shots from Lone Star Park.

Is it hard to get down where you can get the tight shots at the rails and curves?

Did you hand hold the shots or use the tripod/monopod?

Hey David! I hope all is well with you and your family.
I am healing slow but sure and I am ready to move on.

I finally go permission to drive last week and I am tired of cabin fever.

I was setting here working on my new Canary website (Other Hobby) when the PM came in.

I hope to buy my new digital camera in a couple weeks! I was lookinmg at buying the Canon EOS 5D.
Having second thoughts though, I was wondering if I should wait until next year?
