Food, Food, and more Food! - 05-14-2007, 07:11 PM

Since my mom got home and has been staying wth us her friends have been bringing food over everyday. Let me tell you, those old ladies can cook!!! My mom can't eat half of what they bring but I sure can. Tonight I had meat and gravy, fresh baby potatos, blackeye peas, fried okra, fired green tomatos, and home made coen bread!!! there is other stuff but this is what I pigged out on. For desert we had home made banan pudding, mmmmmm, a lemon icebox pie, and a pecan pie. I couldn't help myself, I woofed down two bowls of the banan pudding. Man I feel like I have gained 80 lbs since all this started and it looks like it will only get worse because these old ladies won't stop bringing food everyday. Kind of makes you wonder what happened to the generations today? Theres still a lot that do this kind of stuff but not like our parents generation. Anytime someone was hurt or just down on their luck the whole community used to come to help by cooking for them and helping them with their yard or farm. I'm just glad there are still some in our generation that still does this.

Man I'm getting fat though

HA HA-John you sure know how to hurt a guy who grew up on a self sufficient farm in south central Illinois. Geez, I just ate and now I'm hungry again.
