Unhappy Go to Nola for Jazzfest and come back with a Broken Ankle - 05-17-2007, 09:20 AM

And what makes me so mad is that I broke it Sunday 29th before the fest and missed out on Jerry Lee Lewis, ZZ top and some other great acts.

Well I'm home now after surgery in Dallas and will be on crutches for 2 months or so so I will not be able to get out to cover some events in the area and across the state--kind of hard to carry a camera/lenses/supplies while on crutches.

Well things happen in life and you live to overcome them.

Did at least get some great shots for the first 2 days of the fest and will slowly add them to my Pbase account-am in a real nap mode right now since surgery was just on Tuesday.

Dr says it should be all fine if I stay off of it so following his orders.

Hey this will also help in my weight loss plan since I have been trying to drop a few extra lbs anyway before the end of the summer.

Really no pain, just a shot when the first doc at Tulane reset the ankle (foot was at about a 45 degree angle) and then some pain after the operation and now just a minor throbbing since I have not had it elevated for a couple hours (time to hit the sack again for a while). Staff at the Dallas Hospital thought I was nuts or had a high pain tollerance since I was refusing pain meds every day because I had no real pain.

Man it is great being able to get a good nights sleep at home vs the 2-3 hour stretches in a hospital, fealing great but know that I must stay in and not possibley screw this thing up so homebound and working on photos.

Shot these on the day before the break

Rather interesting watching all of the people around Mr Jackson doing their things, talking about a posse!
