My son the Slugger!!! - 05-18-2007, 10:41 PM

Well tonight was the last game of the season and my sons team the Bats played the Jaks. It didn't look good for a while becasue the Score was 2 to 0, Jaks winning. The middle of the 4th my son was up to bat and he HIT the BALL!!! You should have seen his face! He had this look like he was thinking what the??? It was like he was in shock. This was his first good hit all season. He does pretty good handling the ball but his swing is way to early everytime. The pitcher tonight was fast and it worked out great for Timothy. He Hit the ball deep into center field and could have made it at least to second but The couch was motioning for him tho go for second and the assistant couch was telling him to hold up on first, should have seen him, he was back abd forth and didn't know which way to go. At least he didn't get half way and change his mind which would have got him thrown out. Yhe next batter came up and he hit a line drive but the Jaks fumbled with the ball and he was safe and Timothy made it to third. The next batter came up and she hit one to the fence and Timothy and the other by made it in, tieing the score. After that it was down hill for the Jaks when they got upset about the game being tied and started making errors. The game ended up being 6 to 4 in the Bats favor. That means the Bats might go to the All Stars game!!! Timothy acts like it was no big deal but I can tell by his face that he's walking on cloud 9 ! I'm extremely happy for him and very, very proud of him, although I have always been very proud of my little buddy. How can I not be, he was born on my birthday 10 minutes after the exact hour I was. Just had to brag on him, this is a big moment for both me and him. I'll get some photos up very soon. You'll have to excuse the poor quality because I was jumping all around, it was dark and I'm not that good at low light phots yet and I was swingging the camera everywhere trying to keep up with him as he ran. I don't care how bad they are, I'll be printing them out and they will be framed and hung in our house!!!

What amazes me is how you have calmly and subjectively given us a play by play account of the events, yet kept your fatherly pride subdued.

Sounds like a great night for both of you. It takes me back to when my boys were in Little League. Some games you will never forget.

Oh trust me it's subdued, If you were in the car on our ride home you would have had to wear ear plugs, I just about wore my horn out

We will never forget this game. I'm not into sports that much and the only sport that didn't involve some type of engine that I was into during school was Baseball. Now my son is following right in my foot steps, he loves cars and motorcycles and the only sport he really cares about is baseball. He palys basketball alos but he doesn't get into it like he does baseball.
