Very nice! Saw the television cam from the Astros game tonight and wished...and you have done it! (We have clouds tonight!)

The clouds, rolled in as I went outside, and my uncle has my step-up ring so I can't connect it to the telescope at the house... Here's a shot I took a couple months ago, through a 600mm telescope with a 2x converter.

Very cool shot, Mark! Really clear and sharp. Love the star effect around Venus.

Great shot. I saw this when returning home from the neighbors tonight. By the time I had walked into the house, out the back door with the camera and tripod, I had just enough time to see it move behind a cloud bank. RATS!!! The cloud bank was lit from below by the DFW metroplex. It would have made a very cool shot.

Congrats again on the good catch.

And to think, I was going to go to an astronomy site after my nightly visit to TPF to check on what it was I saw up there.

Just further proof that this site is all you really need.

Awesome shot, I don't know why, but everytime I see space pictures I want to go watch the Star Wars Series...

Cool - I too did not realize it was Venus.

I was messing around downtown last night and got a neat shot of the moon between 2 or the "6 sisters" art columns, now I have to see if Venus showed up also.

I was in Austin over the weekend when I saw that amazing sight. Nothing like sitting on hill with a bunch of hippies contemplating the universe and its complexity. Amazing capture.
