I believe Reba McIntire will be there this year as well.

Personally, I'll miss it and will be stuck in Lubbock (yuck).

But it's real neat and lots of things to do, the HS marching band is AWESOME.

Why is Lubbock considered yuck??????? Some of us call this area home, and get kinda testy when our home is verbally assaulted. If you don't like the area, then by all means, please do not visit. But keep the negative comments to yourself. They seem completely uncalled for.

Chill, don't take things so offensively.. Especially when no offense was meant.

- 1st: How and why would you think the "yuck" was referring to Lubbock. I could have very well meant that I was going to miss out on the festival.

- 2nd: I was born in Lubbock too and I have all rights to call it whatever I want.

- 3rd: I never said anything about not liking the area

- 4th: This conversation has gone WAY overboard and is stopping here.

So think before you speak.

If you were not making a negative comment about a place that I call home, then my response was misdirected.

To answer your first question, the reason that I would think that the yuck refers to Lubbock, is the placement of the

directly after the word Lubbock. So I apologize for misreading that statement when I guess it should have been obvious that you used the word yuck to express your displeasure at missing the 41st Annual National Polka Festival.

Well, I'm glad we got that out of the way and all is cleared up. Apologizes accepted.

The Polka Festival is quite a show, lots of colors, traditional costumes, parade, floats and merchants... plus Ennis has alot of neat old architectural structure details one may find interesting. I've always taken pictures thoughout the years of the festival with my film 35mm and medium format camera, this would have been my first year to have enjoyed doing it with my Canon 20D. (Digital noob)

If anything, I hate about going to Lubbock is the long 6 hour drive from Dallas and knowing it's $3+ a gallon to fill my gas tank.

Now that would have been a SHOW! I would have had to call up my family and tell them I would have to miss the family reunion.
