OK, Lupe and her mom watch these things on Telemundo, and the other spanish language channels. Perforce, I end up watching some of them, and have come to certain conclusions which are DEFINATELY not Politically Correct:

a) Spanish-Mexican women are Muy Caliente! Wow, there are few ugly women in telenovelas.
b) The good guy/good girl is almost always blond/red headed/very light skin
c) The villain(ess) is almost always dark skinned and dark haired.
d) The mute button does not detract from the visual enjoyment.
e) They are very sexist, see "d" above.
f) They are very formulaic.

I think point A) should have been listed twice.

They show stuff on the Spanish channels that would never get pass the censors on any of the major networks! I wonder sometimes how the Spanish channels get around the FCC "morels" goons, because don't the do some of their broadcasting from within the US?

Mind you, I ain't complaining! If US soap operas were as "interesting", visually that is, then I would probably watch them!

Ohhh, I have to disagree. Maybe the main character (due to intentional make-up/props) but the other characters very much fall in the 'Muy Caliente' category.
