The Day Job ... - 05-25-2007, 06:23 AM

So I have sometimes wondered what you people do on the side of your side gigs. That is to say, the day job.

Personally I am the chief corporate flunky at my office. I do CAD and graphic design for a civil engineering firm. We are the goons tearing up the Sugar Land Regional Airport.

But since my company is the typical Texas engineering firm owned and mainly comprised of male **EDIT** Caucasian Americans **/EDIT** and I am the only hispanic in the office I like to think of myself as the token Mexican. I guess that makes me a Peso.

Prophet out.

Wouldn't a peso be a Mexican token, not the token Mexican? Just sayin.

I spend my day telling people that their credit sucks and that the home they thought would appreciate over the years, is now worthless.
Once in a while, one slips through the cracks and they actually get to refinance their mortgage.

Work with me here man. Sheesh.

And Tom don't take this the wrong way but now that I know you are a banker I have to put you on Pika's hit list. It's nothing personal. It is just that we have been fighting to get financing for our start-up forever. And we have come SO close so many times.

Ok I just depressed myself.

I guess that would make me the token Asian at the consulting firm I work for ;)
I get to travel around the country implementing/upgrading/teaching scheduling software for different companies. And yes, all of them are male caucasians and overweight :p
They all take advantage of the daily perdiem, so they all eat at nice places when they are onsite.
Me, I use the money to go to strip bars :p When else can you do that on someone else's money?

Curt,

Here is some inspiration for the day from a fellow peso to another peso!

I myself am going thru challenging moments as we speak, but I am not going to stop clicking! If you do not give up, the man will not give up on you!

Even Christians can sometimes feel hopeless and powerless to overcome adversities. Maybe you feel trapped in your job, or your marriage is in trouble and there doesn’t seem to be an answer. You may have a child who is on the wrong path. Or maybe you are single and have given up any hope of ever meeting the right person. But no matter where you are, God can turn your situation around—and it could start happening today! If you believe with all your heart that God has something great around the corner for you, then hope will take over. God’s hope is such a powerful thing that it can keep you going when practically nothing else can. That’s because God’s hope will never fail or let you down, even if everything else does.

Thanks,
Angel

I'm sorry for your problems, and hope that you are able in the future to accomplish your financial goals. My day job is at night. I sleep during the day while most of you work. I am the Po Po aka a gun toter, or as Matt put it in another thread "Jackbooted Oppressor" and my current assignment is to manage an 911/Emergency Dispatch Center at night of course. I thought we had done this before. it was here

Lol. Well thanks. One day we will clear that final hurdle. And then Pika and I do the naked money dance of victory!
