After the scotch, hire a baby sitter and leave.

Ya know - I remember my Mom not liking hosting the slumber parties. I never knew why...

They actually quieted down! Mike was play fighting with them when they got here. I sent him and the baby out. It must be all Mike's fault! ;o) And I thought the kids mom just loaded her up on Pix Stix and dumped her on my door!

When my girls had slumber parties I always told them the "Rule" when I was ready to go to bed. "You girls can stay up as long as you want as long as you are quiet. Once you wake me up then when I go back to bed we ALL go to bed and it's lights out. I only had to send them all to bed once each for my first two girls and twice for the youngest. She had one friend whose excited laugh bordered on a scream. She didn't get invited to the third party.

So I'm guessing duct tape over their mouths and tying their arms and legs to chairs wouldn't be an acceptable solution?

I don't think any amount of duct tape would keep Pika quiet...

One thing I learned freom my two daughters' slumber parties is that a dozen girls will eat less than one slice of of pizza each, and the host and hostess must consume the other three pizzas. They also sleep cross ways on the bed (when they actually sleep) for some reason.

Holly,

I had hundreds (probably more like thousands) of sleep over parties when I was growing up thanks to being an only child, and having very indulgent grandparents and parents.
I did not want to deprive my daughter of the same.

Make rules and set boundries that they all can live with and then it is a lot of fun.
It is amazing what you learn about your child when their friends hang around all the time.
Your child may not tell you what is going on, but if you take the time to listen, their friends will.
Ear plugs and Benedryl work great... (for you. Girls giggle until they drop. Can't be helped that I know of...)

The only time I can ever remember wanting to drown the group was when I had 45 cheerleaders waking me up and 3:00 a.m. to show me a new cheer, and then they decided they had to make pancakes. (I never allowed her to have all 3 squads at the same time after that. That meant a maximum of 15 at a time.)

Rules from that:
You cannot go outside after 10 p.m.
You cannot wake me except for life and death emergencies after 12 p.m.
Clean up what you mess up....

I awoke them at 7:00 a.m. by banging two pots together. I wanted them to clean the kitchen. They got the message about the consequences of being inconsiderate and being deprived of sleep.

Also - never have odd numbers when the kids are young. Someone always gets left out and starts crying.

Have fun and enjoy.

Donna

Ah, but they need Duct tape for lens creep. Apply the tape, shoot outside in teh Texas sun, and remove the tape. No more creep.
