Have you mis-identified some people in photos before? I got in trouble today for putting down the wrong last name in a photo for a graduate as she was walking off of the stage. They said the mother called and yelled and complained over the phone

I don't know how I got the name wrong, after I got the shot I recorded the name into the camera. Maybe because they had two lines going at once for the graduates

I don't know if I want to be a photojournalist anymore- it gets stressful alot

I'd be more comfortable with a job that doesnt involve identifying each person

Also, it's no fun when they have me go out and shoot little kids playing sports. All of the parents are always eyeing me and giving me looks like I don't have feelings. Alot come up and ask why I am taking photos and I explain it's for the newspaper. Then they say "So why would that require a big camera to zoom in on our children?"

Happens almost every week....especially with sports.

People switching jerseys, not on the roster, coaches not making it a point to update rosters and whatnot.

And whenever I get flack from a parent, just tell them you are just out doing your job and here's the number of the office if they have a problem.

Not gonna lie though...it is stressful, a lot. No way around that.

I once got an angry email from a father claiming i ruined his daughter's life after writing that his daughter finished second in a swimming heat. Never mind they didn't wear any numbers and the graduate assistant running the stats for the meet screwed up and my story reflected the results I was given...

Don't get too stressed out about it, though. At the end of the day, the graduate is old enough to know that mistakes happen. Run a correction and move on. If anyone in the newsroom tells you it's never happened to them, they are lying. Just learn from it and be more careful.

Oh, and I do know a girl in college who had a five-photo picture story published that then required six corrections for names.

Been there done that... I've misidentified people in captions and in copy. It's no fun writing the retraction later, but mistakes happen.

It's a stressful job, but I love every minute of it anyways...
