Now this looks WAY cool! It's new computing technology that will be introduced by Microsoft at the end of the year. Kinda reminds me of the computing surfaces on the Enterprise in TNG.

Check out http://www.microsoft.com/surface for more videos. This thing looks amazing and has the potential to really change the world of information sharing.

Here's one I was watching earlier.
http://www.popularmechanics.com/tech...y/4217348.html

That would be great for wedding album design, or client proofing.

I saw something very similar on Discovery future tech or something early last year. But in that show they did NOT mention microsoft at all. but compared it to the type of technology in the Movie "Minority Report"

I know several of the functions of resizing photos and stuff will be in the iphone, and several PCs have touch capability now to open programs and move things around on the desktop with your fingers. Hey you will be giving MS the finger all the time if oyu use that

would be cool, but im a mouse and keyboard kinda guy, besides I have greasy monkey paws and would ruin the screen in short order

That is amazing. I really like the way it reacts on every movement. Probably won't be cheap.

The Popular Mechanics link mentioned pricing in the $5k-10k range and that it will probably start out in the business environment before it makes it into the homes.

I'm just waiting for all of the Apple-loving, PC-hating crowd to give us the same old tired, "Apple has been doing that for years" kind of thing.

Seriously, this stuff looks way cool.

Well actually I'm part of the apple loving crowd. But I haven't seen anything at this scale from apple. I know the Iphone features some of the techniques mentioned in the video but that is a small bit of what I've seen.
I would like to see what microsoft has in store for us. Wouldn't it be great to edit a photo with your fingers or with a pen right on your monitor. Wacom has such possibilities but this can be a major breakthrough.
