I love the area around Redstone, Colo. It isn't called Redstone for no good reason.

If you want some adventure, go to Marble, where you can photo some huge marble slabs. You can also go on a 4X4 adventure. Take a lunch.

Four wheel drive only, and if you don't have a lot of clearance you can lose things off the bottom of your vehicle.

Darn, I didn't want to drive my Trooper on this trip.
The Camry gets twice the gas milage.

YOu are better off going on this tour... It can get pretty hairy up there if you aren't familiar.

Thanks Tom, Will they let me dictate the time of day?
All I care about is sunset and sunrise.
Mid day shots are never something I want.

Well, if you've got access to a mountain bike and can strap it on to your Camry, the road out to the Crystal Mill is a great ride.

Take your Camry and take a tour like Tom suggested or hire someone to take you up. Many or those rocks are sharp and could cut your tire. We stopped in Marble at a place that sold marble art peices and found out they also offered guides to take you up. We did that. I think it was around $60.00. I believe his name was Ron. We gave him good tip later. Nice guy and let us stay pretty much as long as we wanted. Lives on the mountain there. We bottomed out one time even in his jeep..... As you start going up, there is a small lake on the left that can make a very nice picture especially late in the evening when the wind dies down and water is calm. I think early morning is best time for Maroon Bells and early evening for Maroon Bells. For Crystal Mill you can walk down to river and get shot of mill looking up but the best shot is from above.
