Route 66 Photo ops - 06-04-2007, 12:09 PM

The family will be taking a day trip to Bernice, OK (far NE corner) for a family event. I found a route that will take me a few miles on Route 66. It looks like between Hwy 69 and OK 85. I would love to get a shot of a highway sign. Does anybody if those signs still exist? Between that short distance is there anything worth shooting? Won't have much time in the morning to explore but probably have some time in the late afternoon to early evening.

Yes...the highway signs still exist.

My dad is from Afton....which is right on old 66 if I remember right.

Really...the best place to find some signs is in Miami (also the largest town near Bernice). If you make it there...look for the old Coleman Theatre on 66 in downtown. It's amazing.

Enjoy Grand Lake while you're there, it's one of the prettiest in that area.

Well... it's time to get back in the game.
