SPAM (the food)

I don't particulary care for spam, but I like them "veener weeners" especially the jalepeno ones.

But I am pretty much a fat boy, and I will eat just about anything. So if someone makes me a spam sandwich, I will gladly eat it if I am hungry!

I had never had spam before, but my mother I guess liked it, and so she fixed some up on day, and I tried it out, and discovered that... I hate spam.
Though I do love vienna sausages.

Just had to - SPAM and eggs this morning. The 7-yo grandson wanted some - likes it. He even asked for SPAM and eggs next Saturday when he comes to visit.

Dang it. Now I'm hungry for some, and there is none in the house!

That Hawai'i thing is the truth. The local look-a-like to Denny's is called Zippy's. They have a number of dishes featured with Spam. While vacationing there with my Favorite Second Shooter, we had Spam more than once. Ya, the novelty of being able to go to a restaurant and BUY IT was a hoot! But, it is darn tasty stuff. Zippy's has a meal called a Zip Pac very nice assortment of flavors. I'll post a separate thread on another personal favorite, The Locomoco and see if we get any takers there....LOL

The folks in Hawai'i love pork, and Spam came along with the fleet in the last century...it stuck much to the delight of its inventors who were looking for a product to prevent wasting all of the pork shoulder.

I used to fry spam then smother it in salsa... good stuff... and a hell of alot easier to eat than Vienna Sausages, seeing people eat those things make me nauseous

i love fried SPAM & egg sandwiches. toasted bread with strawberry jelly, loaded up with fried SPAM and scrambled eggs ... yum!

Where you guys been? We've had a festival in Austin just about every year to celebrate all things Spamalicious.
