man this is horrible a local guy Troy Critchley was at a car show and drag race exhibition in Selmer TN today it seems he was doing a burnout at an exhibition for Cars For Kids on the main highway in Selmer lost control and careened off a utility pole and then into a crowd of people 2 of the 15 are cirtical I know the guy and Dave Woods who owns the AMS teams as well as the American Drag Racing League I just cant imagine what they are going thru

my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims as well as to Dave Wood and the entire AMS team

man death toll is up to 7 now I watched the video it sounded like he shifted into 3rd nad had to peddle it on a regular racing surface this would have been ok im sure but on a bare streete with no rubber down on the surface it just flat came loose and he lost it. It doesnt look like something broke but it could have it just looks like the car went sideways and it was too late to get out of it
sad day all around

I see the death toll is now 6. I guess someone came back to life. How tragic.

I've never been to a drag strip. There is one in the area and hope to go sometime. But don't they usually have barriers up to prevent things like this? Lookout! Selmer is going to be invaded by lawyers.
