Nintendo Wii and itrackr - 06-26-2007, 07:47 PM

Unfortunately, the friend I visited this weekend has a Wii, and now I want one. Other than calling every store in your area every single day (and having the time and patience to do so), making an account on itrackr.com seems to be a good way to know when and where the units ca be found. I have tried 10 times with 4 different email accounts on 3 computers and 2 different web browsers, and none of my validation codes work. I know none of that stuff matters because it takes my info and sends me a code every time. It's so frustrating.

Has anyone tried and been successful in *creating and validating* a new itrackr.com account since June 25?

I'm just going to review the Target ads for Wii and if I see it there, show up at the store early on Sunday.

Also, you might want to call a local Gamestop. I have it on very reliable information that they are getting units in on a weekly basis. If you call during the week they will let you know when they are supposed to receive their next shipment...

We had to jump through hoops to get ours (but it's worth it!)

Good luck!!

Thanks Joe. I called 6 or 7 GameStops earlier today. They say they don't know when the next shipment is coming in, but one guy was very helpful and said they should be coming in more frequently now (they had 3 yesterday). All they could say is they get them Monday through Friday (when I'm working).

I'm trying Target, Best Buy, Circuit City, Toys R Us, and GameStop. I need to add Wal-Mart to the list. I'll be at my parents house in Spring on Sunday so that's where I'll be looking this weekend.

My husband hasn't offered to help me find one. I guess he won't get to play it! At least not until I get tired of playing against the computer.

Check your local walmart. I kept checking for months and finally they got 11 in at one time. I bought four to sell on ebay. Don't try it. I think I made about $2.00 each after everthing was said and done. The reason I'm telling you this is because earlier this year they were going for around $300-$350 on ebay. Now they are only going for $260 - $280 plus shipping. I see them at our walmart about every other week now.

As always, I was late for the party. I didn't make my millions as planned by selling Wii's on Ebay.

But, I kept one for the *cough cough* kids. Wow, I never thought it would be so fun. Very enjoyable, even if you only play the sports pack. I can't get enough baseball and bowling. It's well worth the wait!!!!!

Thanks Kevin. One is all I care to buy! Tomorrow will be busy (company lunch plus I have my allergy shot, grrrr!) but I will try to call WalMart at some point in the day. Not too sure how helpful they will be over the phone, though. If that doesn't work I'll just visit in the evening.

I did not know they were still in high demand. Just walked into walmart one morning in January, saw it there and bought one. Then called a few of my friends that were looking for it, 30 minutes later "I" sold 6 to my friends that came to the Walmart and picked it up. They inforced the one Wii per customer rule.... But is is okay. I think I played it a whole 4 times since January. But I blame grad school for that...

All I know about the Wii is that it's fun to watch drunk 20 somethings play it

We were just at Fry's in Webster and they had them for $349 I think. My son just bought one this weekend from game stop for $250 after trading some heavy PS2 games in.

Costco gets them in stock fairly often. Went a few weeks ago and they had a pallet of them.

Yikes, I was hoping just to pay the $250 for the unit and Wii Sports. I guess I'll need a second remote too -- I don't know if that comes with it or not. What comes with the basic package? I thought it would have 2 remotes, Wii Sports, and the numchuk since my friend had all of that and I don't think they paid extra.

My Costco membership just ran out, but I think I can still call and ask if it's in stock. If they have it, I'll re-join. Costco is in such a horrible location (I-10/Bunker Hill) and the only time I can get over there is on the weekend.

Here's a clue.. My boyfriend and I spent quite awhile looking for them, and what we learned was that the people on the phone will tell you they are out of stock 90% of the time without even looking. We must have called every single store in the metroplex every day for awhile, and everyone said they were out, even though we heard of other people just walking in and finding them all the time. If you really want to get one for retail, your best bet is to go to a store, get buddy buddy with one of the salespeople, find out when they restock (preferaby at a time when that salesperson will be working there), then go back, find your guy, and have him go find one for you. If you can find a way to compliment the salesguy for all of his hard work in front of his manager, you can almost guarantee he will hook you up :)

Otherwise, I recommend just buying one online and waiting for it.. The bf ordered one through Gamestop and even though they told him it would be two weeks before they would even ship it, it arrived in just a few days.

Yeah, I kinda get the feeling too that a lot of people could be saying no without even checking or caring. The cheapest bundle at GameStop right now is $474.92. It comes with too many extras that I don't really want. Thanks anyway! The guy at Toys R Us was pretty nice so maybe I will try to get on his good side if nothing pans out this weekend. I just haven't had a lot of time to drop into stores the last couple of days.
