Unhappy I'm being haunted. - 06-27-2007, 10:32 AM

So I thought I talked myself out of buy a MK III. I spent a month trying to convince my wife that I "needed" a MKIII. After kinda sorta getting her semi-approval I was given the sorta kinda OK to pull the trigger. $4500 is a huge chunk of change to blow and if I did we'd be on a VERY tight budget. But I didn't.

Well wouldn't you know it...my After Capture magazine arrived in the mail yesterday. It was wrapped in a nice plastic package. I went to pick of my said magazine and head to the men's thinking room. As I lifted the magazine from the table it felt heavier than normal. Upon opening the package there it was! Staring me right in the eyes!! A beautiful black 29 page spread of the MKIII with its own Playboy like centerfold layout!!! I was hypnotized by her beauty. She was haunting me like that one awesome girlfriend that got away and you wished you could get her back but some other smuck swooped in and stole her from you.

I did run off to the men's thinking room with my MKIII mag hidden underneath my t-shirt and leaving behind the After Capture like an unwanted stepchild. Shut the door, turn the locked and started to read.

I'm so screwed,
-Sonny

My cure for 1D3 obsessions: read FM's Canon board and see all the whining about AF issues.

Meh...dummies that do not know how to properly operate their equipment. I've read the same stories on 3 other forums.

Not literally but he was testing the AF with a pre-prod MKIII. You make the call.

I always like to wait for the first models to get out and allow other to work the bugs out. I also like for the prices to drop a little after the big demand dies down some. If I'm going to spend 4500 I sure as anything want it to work well and to be able to withstand some abuse, unintended as it may be.
