Question Comp ? per Video Cache - 06-27-2007, 12:48 PM

I'm getting a video Cache error saying that I need to increase it, so how is that done? I've looked all over the place with no luck.

I've rebooted the system, I've gone in an done a bunch of other things that I thought would clear the cache but no luck so if anyone has knowledge on where to access the system to increase the size of said cache I would appreciate it.

(I have added an external hard drive to the system so there is plenty of drive space available).

If I am not mistaken, this is a situation that comes up with system memory being shared for video memory for an onboard video card, most common in laptops.

If your video card has some software running that controls it's functions (you can usually find them from the display properties window -- just right click on the desktop and choose properties, then the settings tab) If there is an advanced button, then you should be able to adjust it from there, and maybe increase the amount of shared ram dedicated to the video card.

Otherwise, I have no idea.

Nevermind -- I'll take care of it myself!

The only other place I know that you can address this is in your system BIOS.

I'm not up to speed on the preferred changes. A gaming forum is the place to ask this kind of question.

Tweaking video card settings is old hat to most of them.
