For those of you that have used MPIX - 06-27-2007, 03:28 PM

I've bought a ton of prints from MPIX and love their work. One of the things that I like about them is the way that they package the prints that they ship. I'd like to use some of the same shipping materials but am having a heck of a time finding them. Specifically, I'm referring to the "envelopes" that they use. I don't know any other way to describe them than to say that they look kinda like wax paper. I know that they're not actually wax paper, but they look kinda like it. If any of you have used MPIX and know what I'm talking about, can you please please please tell me where I can buy that stuff? I talked to the folks at Arlington Camera and they just stared at me.

Thanks!

They might be glassine envelopes. Have look at B&H and see if they look the same:

You can check out the B&H offering, but in the mean time, I'm going to Hobby Lobby today to try to find photo boxes so I'll see if they have some of these envelopes and let you know.

It reminded me of vellum. But I don't know if that's what it is. l did a quick google search for 'vellum envelopes' and found this - http://www.actionenvelope.com/ae/con...mcategory=7005

"Glassine" envelopes are what I'm looking for. I also sent an e-mail to MPIX customer service and this is what they replied with...

"Ours are custom made by someone in California, through one of our suppliers of many different items. Therefore, I would recommend Loon Photographic Minilab Supply Store. There number is 800.367.9298 Ask for glassines."

These guys rock - as do all of you here at TPF!

The website for the company that they directed me to is: http://www.minilab.com/

Now, all you need is a rubber stamp to imprint your studio name and address. I have been using these for years.
