Traveling to Indiana and Mass - 06-29-2007, 02:16 PM

Has anyone been to Indianapolis Indiana or Boston Mass? I will be traveling the week of July 16th and would like find a few photo locations.

I have three for Indianapolis

1. Indianapolis Museum of Art
2. Holiday Park
3. IMA: Oldfields–Lilly House & Gardens

Any more ideas?

Thanks

Troy

i used to live in Boston - and will actually be there from July 10-15 visiting

it'll be a great time when you visit - summer time weather outside and tons of people everywhere... i'd recommend - in no particular order

1) Boston Commons and Boston Public Gardens
2) Boston Duck Tours (very popular - so you may have to book NOW)
3) Boston Museum of Art
4) Boston Red Sox (Fenway Park)
5) Cambridge (Harvard Square & Harvard University)
6) Boston Pops Orchestra
7) Walking from Back Bay to the Commons (on Newbury St. or Boylston St.)
8) Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market
9) If you're into Nightlife, Theater District (near the Commons) is the place to be ...
10) North End - for the best Italian Food & Desserts
11) Any Irish Pub in the city limits !!!

Also, don't forget all the historical site photo ops around the Boston area.
- USS Constitution
- Old North Church
- Graveyard by Old North Church
... just to name a few.

I lived in Fort Wayne, In for 4 years. Only went to Indy once.

Best thing I can tell you is the corn fields. "Knee high by the forth of july". So the corn is not going to be real tall yet.

When you hit Boston go directly to the turnpike and go west! As soon as you get outside city limits its Gods country. The further east the better! If you have time go to Sturbridge and visit Sturbride Village, great photo ops. Its like going through a time machine a 150 years back. Great food all over the place, highly recommend getting a good greek pizza from any little greek pizza shop also fish'n chips are out of this world. You have not had clam chowder until you have tried Leagal Seafoods! The Best in the world. In boston, just go to the commons and there are plenty of things to shoot. Down some of the back streets near the old Cheers Bar (The Bull & Finch) there are great old buildings with the iron balconys that make great b&w's. When in Sturbridge stop by Village Music, my best friend own's it and my mom lives right up the road. I grew up just outside of Worcester, MA~! Oh yea! another great place to shoot is north of Boston about 30 min is Rockport & Glouster bay, awesome for sunset shots! I am home sick now!

I lived in Indy for 9 years. They have a very nice zoo, Eiteljorg Indian museum, childrens museum, Indianapolis motor speedway, downtown area around the circle, circle center mall, etc. Have fun. I may be headed that direction in August.
