My Move to Cali - 07-04-2007, 11:43 PM

Well as some of you know, I am moving from Houston to Santa Barbara to attend Brooks Institute of Photography. I just left today and finished my first leg of the drive. I intended to make it to El Paso but ended up stopping for the night in Fort Stockton.

Anyways, after I got accepted to Brooks, quite a few people asked me to tell them what the school was like. Obviously it is a bit different than any normal college. Maybe even a bit different than a normal art school. Either way, with all the requests I ended up starting a blog.

I want it to become a resource for people to maybe learn some tips I learned and for potential students to see what is like.

Right now it is just my posts from me being bored over the summer. But the official posts start today. With day one of my roadtrip.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I remember my first pack up and drive to California adventure. 19 years old and heading for Oceanside and the rest of the big world in the USMC.

Enjoy your trip and it's good to see you taking time to stop and "smell the roses" so to speak.

Good luck and good light!

Cool beans. Too bad you don't have time for a quick run through the Davis Mtns. I can't believe how green it is out there right now...

Thanks for the heads up.

Thanks everyone. So far the trip has been good. Drove for 13 hours today, stopping in random places along the way.

The trip continues on the blog. I hope you all enjoy it, and apparently I picked a good name.

My first trip to Cali was in a Winnebago. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

Except for driving through AZ in the dead of summer with a malfunctioning A/C generator. Thank goodness for campgrounds.

Oh, and I'm loving that car-mount you have.

Holy crap, AZ is insane, but my arm out the window... felt like it was being blow dried with a small jet engine.

According to my car, it is about 106 degrees outside right now.

So far I am loving the trip.
