Update on my grandpa

They finally admitted him into the VA today. He has high potassium (not sure what the # is) his blood pressure was only 60/40 He is dehydrated etc.... They are pretty sure that he is in Renal Kidney Failure. Which is caused by his diabetes. From the research that I did it doesn't look good. They can get it down but keeping it down with his diabetes will be a problem. Not sure how long he will be there but grandmother seems to think that he is going to be "ok". Call me pessimistic but I don't see it. Even if he lives to come home I doubt he will be here by the end of the summer :(
So if you could please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

And a side note my mom was in a wreck today. The other medic was driving and they were T boned in the middle of the intersection. She hasn't told me yet, my sister did. So apparently our family has issues right now.

we are kinda going through the same thing with my dad. It is EXTREAMLY tough to hear them say they just want to die and not burden us.

I spoke with him yesterday. He sounds 100 times better, more like himself that is for sure. He is hoping to go home today. Supposedly his kidneys are working "good" for now. They got the potassium down. But they told him that he will have to come in about every week or so to get the fluid removed. They removed over 40 pounds of fluid in a 24 hour period. He went in at 198, he came out at 152. So things are looking good for the monent atleast.
We are hoping we can wait until Sep to go home "if" he continues to improve. Everyone keeps telling us not to come home yet.

wow, thats some great news!!!!

thats a huge weight off your shoulders. now you just need to keep reminding him to look after him self and do what he needs to, to prevent this from happening again.
