ok I am so fed up with them... since the switch is been nothing but problems for us.... we had rarely ever had any problems before but now all of the sudden we could not connect to anything about a week and a half ago hubby said the ping was super high and we ended up needing a new modem... so the comcastic people told us that it would take about 4 days to have a tech here in the meantime no internet... hubby could not go with that so he bought a modem and called them to registered the mac number... well they said the guy had to do it so we needed to wait now three days LOL... and than hubby the next day went to get a modem with them directly from their store and came home and put everything together.. still did not work until he was on the phone with them about 1 hour they got it on... ok so it worked good for like two days... today is taking me like 2 minutes to open any page online and to receive my e-mail it takes forever.... Ughhhhhhh I am thinking about switching to something else!
sorry just had to vent

We have had a few phone hick-ups since the switch. I have the all in one bundle package with Comcast. but other than that there was only one night for a few hours where internet access was not working.

I heard comcast is supposed to up our internet speeds a little and maybe the node equipment close to your house was "hot" to begin with and then when the upped it a little more it fried the modem.

one of the Time Warner techs told me last year when I was having lots of problems that the node down the line in my neighborhood kept getting adjusted due to customer complaints. said the if house a 3 blocks over is hainvg problems the tech will adjust the out put of the node equipment until they get a good reading/signal for that house. however it could drop or increase the signal at my house causing my internet and phone not to work, but TV is still fine since it does not go through the cable modem.

so when they fix my house it messes up the other house. and the cycle starts all over again. sounds more like they need to replace some cable lines somewhere to me and make sure all the connections, taps and splits are ok.

"I feel your pain"
with TWC, no issues, maybe a few weather related outages, speed was fine. Since Comcast, packet loss, consistent dropped connections, and now if you call their number, you can't even stay on hold....after maybe 10 minutes, the recording tells you to call back later and disconnects
Sad to say, since ATT has nothing close to me and Verizon is not in my area...I'm stuck

sucky... still having problems... yesterday the tech guy was suppose to come and hubby was suppose to call in the am to cancel but he could not get a hold of anyone.. the line would drop his call after being on hold for a while.. so he is like screw it... than I get a call saying a tech was on the way I was like we do not need a tech anymore, they said "why did you not call to cancel?" I said we tried but no call was going through.... now I am thinking we may need someone out here.... ughhh

I'm hoping that once the switch is made from houston.rr.com to comcast.net or whatever it is that things will get better. So far I'm in agreeance on things like the internet. There are times where it's absolutely slower than molasses uphill in winter, or won't even connect. I have never had problems with my laptop just randomly disconnecting and now it does it quite frequently.

I'm kind of getting tired of the emails and phone calls as well. We keep getting these emails and recorded messages saying to prepare to switch, you will be switched in a few days blah blah blah...like that movie spaceballs "stop preparing and just do it".

I only hope these internet hiccups are over once I can set our addresses correctly.

It's just me Loana, over here on the other side of Sugar Land. I pulled on the cable a bit trying to get some extra bandwidth. I'll give back some slack in the line as soon as I finish this monster download. Hopefully that will clear up your issues

Why? It was a territory swap.
I've had four or five providers since I got cable modem here about 7-8 years ago. Excite, AT&T, Comcast, now TWC, and I'm not sure I didn't leave someone out. They all had some hiccups initially. So far TWC has done the best. We'll see what the long-term service is like, but for now I counsel patience.

Yes, I was away from the computer for a while this afternoon but I am back at it now. You have been warned.

WOW! You trust your dog to babysit? Smart dog. When I leave my three dogs alone they order pizza. I swear, when leaving the house we can get three blocks away and here comes a pizza delivery man. I think they have all the pizza houses on speed dial.
