I found him on an Austin pagan dating site. It was a very small site and not very professional. A friend of his made it. I emailed him because he was vegetarian like me.

Our first date was at IHOP.

Sentimental? hmmm. Unfortunately, we are not a very mushy couple so I can't help you there. Funny story, tho, the other day I took him to a local park here in PA and demanded he try some rides. He hadn't been on a ride in yearrrrrs, but considering he's a war veteran you'd think he could handle rides the toddlers like. The first ride I took him on was the Tilt-A-Whirl. When the ride stopped he threw up all over my jeans.

We were high school sweethearts lol.
I actually asked him to my 8th grade dance and we have been together ever since. So I guess you could say that was our first date.
During high school we spent every waking moment that I wasn't working or we weren't playing sports together. We had our lives planed out he was going to Western Carolina, I was going to App. but his mother kept complaining about money, he is an only child they have/had money. Any way he decided differently.
He came home the spring of his senior year and asked me what I thought about him joining the Navy. I told him I would think he was crazy. Then I asked why the Navy there isn't any in NC. He said exactly lol. We didn't like the little town we were from. There wasn't even a Walmart in our entire county. Any way he always said that he would get me out of there. And the Navy was our ticket out. Then he proceeded to tell me that he had already signed the papers, noone else knew. That was his way of getting an education with out his mother complaining about money. She just knew that he would go to the local CC and not leave home.
I told him I would go any where but California, and that was his first duty station lol. But he came home from Boot Camp in Nov. and Proposed. He went on to San Diego, I graduated and went to Cali for my graduation present lol to myself. He left on a 6 month deployment and when he got back to the states we got married and left for Cali.

Driver's Ed! Ha ha. 1st day of class, my ditzy friend is standing next to me. I didnt know anyone in my car. This guys starts walking towards us and before I could get a look at him, this girl blurts out "Holly! Here comes your husband!" I turned beat red and didnt even look at him for weeks. Poor Mike! lol!

1st day out driving in drivers ed., Mike almost ran over a nun in the parking lot. lol. Nuns don't run. Apparently, Mike didnt know that. lol. I never saw a drivers ed teacher freak out before. Nerves of steal! Unless Mike was in the car. lol!

The whole thing was too funny. We went from dating, to best friends, to dating best friends, to married, to married for 10 years with 2 kids and too many pets. Add in one photo studio and a recently acquired bridal studio - and we are still laughing. (Plus, he's super hot!) ;o)

So, maybe not mushy, but mildly entertaining. When you're 1st impression of someone is sprinkled total embarrassment, & garnished with a dash of nun-sprawled-across-the-hood-of-a-Pinto, what else would happen? LOL!

Jeff and I met at Wal-Mart, he was a manager and I was a cashier. He wooed me by singing Eric, The Half a Bee song (Monty Python something or other) We didnt hooked up one night at a bowling ally and have been together ever since. Of course, he tells a different story :)

first date - he flew me to dallas for three months - we travelled the country on a host of road trips (he paid for everything), he proposed while I was still here.

So technically, although we're married, we got married on our second date ;)

197? - met at a Rome (NY) community theater event.
Never dated because we were both married (not to each other).
1986 - got an email from someone asking if I was the Tom Thompson who, etc. etc. etc. signed PH. Couldn't for the life of me figure out who PH was.
Figured out who it was and started emailing each other. Found out we were both single again.
1987- moved to Texas to be near PH.
2007 - just spent a very romantic weekend together at a B&B in the middle of nowhere.

Her father was not happy at first but he came around.
That was 40 years ago, next weekend.

Damn - never figured I would write something like this! But, what the hell.

I met my wife in 1969 - in Viet Nam. She was an Army Nurse and I was an Infantry officer. No - she was not my nurse when I was wounded. Married in 1971.

The story is this: I was in out of the field, and while drinking heavily (actually, quite drunk) I told my buddy I knew where to find American women. (I had been in the hospital 2 years prior with malaria.) We roamed the place looking for nurses. I walked into one ward full of head and back injuries from the same unit I was with, and this cute blond Second Lieutenant came up to me and said "Good evening, Sir - welcome to the world's only vegetable garden that waters itself."

I just couldn't pass up a woman like that!

Oh yeah - we went back to Viet Nam. We lived there for 1 1/2 years while teaching English at a university. We go back often, and in fact our last trip was in April. I've posted many a pix in the City Life and Photojournalism areas of the TPF.

After 36 years, I'm trying to figure out if I should make this a permanent relationship. You folks think I should hang on to her?

and that was 11 years ago. August will be 10 years we have been married!

We met online... in a chat room before chat rooms went bad! We dated for a year, broke up for a year and realized we couldn't live without each other so we got back together. 2 years later, we were driving home from a remote control car race when he told me that he loved me for the first time. It was one of those things that I always wanted to hear, but he was hurt pretty bad by his first wife so I wasn't sure how long it would take him. He taught me that those words are so special and that you must show someone how you feel before you tell them. I never questioned his love but I assure you, when the words came out of his mouth for the first time, I cried like a baby!!
Christmas Even 2004 he proposed to me in front of my family after asking my Father for my hand in marriage. It was a TOTAL surprise and could not have been any more perfect!
We married in October 2005 and life has been great since!
